residency application & information

residency application & information •

Asylum’s residency offers a free, supported, 24/7 studio space for 3 months where artists can create, explore, and connect with working artists to assist in mentorship.

Residents receive access to shared tools and materials, documentation support including professional photos of their work, and both a solo and group exhibition at the end of their residency.

This is a community-centered program geared towards artists who have not had access to residencies before — collaboration, experimentation, and overall process are prioritized over perfection.

Residents have opportunities to meaningfully contribute and deepen their understanding of their medium by leading workshops and classes, helping improve and shape our shared studio space, and participate in volunteer projects through our Artist Exchange program.

Our goal is to provide a safe, fun, and enriching environment where artists can focus on their practice and build connections with peers.
